Something like that would be fine.I should have specified that I don't like getting the emails you would send your clients. I've gotten quite a few of these when I'll send a marketing consultant an email about something random and then all of a sudden I get tips and updates that they would send their "subscribers".Personally, I would like to get your email update :D.

David, thank you for your example. They probably assume I either don't mind or would want it, since they know me personally. Blech.

@lance, you’d be surprised. I once had this nut cracker who, when I subscribed to one of his newsletters, automatically subscribed me to like 20 more. Over the period of the next 3 weeks, each time I got an email from a newly discovered list I was on, I had to click the unsubscribe link at the bottom.I was so mad I reported him to the abuse department of his ISP.Master marketers would never engage in this type of marketing. The master marketer knows that "You want to be a welcome guest, not an annoying pest." The master marketer knows that the only why you are going to convert some of the leads on your list into paying customers is if you make a connection with that person, if you can start a relationship with that person. The value of your list is not in the size but rather in your ability to form a relationship with the very real people on your list. All good relationships start with respect. Automatically subscribing someone to an emailing list is not being respectful.Annoying your prospects is the quickest way to lose a sale, tarnish your reputation, and have complaints sent in to your ISP.

Well said!
